9/1 AHS vs. SAHS and Fox Creek High School Swimming Results
On Wednesday, September 1 both the Aiken High Schools men’s and women’s swim teams won the tri-meet between South Aiken High School and Fox Creek High Schools. Event winners were Steven Kekacs (200 and 500 free), Will Victor
(200 IM, 100 breast), Hannah Grooms (50 and 100 free), Teddy Hoel(100 fly),Rebecca Fanning(100 back). A highlight of the meet was the women’s 200medley relay of Kelsey Schettino, Christina Levy, Abby Deal, Hannah Grooms
qualifying for the State Championships and then repeating the feat by Qualifying again in the 400 free relay with swimmers Hannah Grooms, Rebecca
Fanning, Abby Deal, and Kelsey Schettino. This is the first time we have qualified not just one, but two women’s relays to the State Championships.

8/25
AHS vs. N.Augusta results

AHS Swimming season may have started out with a loss for each Girls and Boys teams, but qualified 14 events for the State Championship meet. This is a first to qualify so many so early in the season. Qualifying are Rebecca Fanning, Christina Levy, Kelsey Schettino, Abby Deal, Will Victor, Steven Kekacs, Casey Izard, and Steven Carroll.

“The team has been training at a hard pace, and muscles are tired and sore. To perform in the first meet at such an outstanding level by all of the swimmers while they are tired and sore is a great indicator for a good run at the regional championships in October.” Coach Dave Flanders

Standouts for the meet with wins in their events are Senior Kelsey Schettino (200IM and 100 Breaststroke), Junior Steven Kekacs (100 Butterfly and 100 Back), and Freshman Abby Deal (100 Free). Also winning in the 400 free relay were Steven Kekacs, Steven Carrol, Casey Izard, and Will Victor.
