4/20  The Hornets crushed O-W 15-0.   Zac Madden was also 3-for-3 with an RBI. Spencer McCants was 2-for-3 with two RBIs. Kevin Boerstler was 2-for-3 with three RBIs. Madden also picked up the victory on the mound.

4/13  The Hornets defeated RNE  11-9.  Bryce Clifton pitched 5 innings to get the win.  Robert Holmes picked up the save.  Bobby Hass was 2 for 4 with 3 RBI’s, Bren Wilson was 2 for 4 with 2 RBI’s, and Drew Moler was 2 for 4 with 2 RBI’s.

4/12  The Hornets lost 8-0 to South Aiken. Bryce Clifton was 2 for 3 for the Hornets.

Sandlapper tournament:  Defeated Swansea 10-9. Scored 7 runs in the bottom of the 7th to win.  Billy Vickers winning pitcher.  Lost to B-C 7-4.  Lost to Swansea 12-3

4/02 The Hornets lost 9-5 to Lexington and 12-3 to Irmo this week.  

3/26  The Hornets lost 3-0 to North Augusta.  Bryce Clifton pitched 5 innings and struck out 6 for the Hornets. 

3/24  The Hornets lost 9-8 to Lexington.  Hanlon Maivelett led the Hornets with a 3-for-4 day that included a home run and two RBIs. Bobby Hass went 2-for-3 with an RBI

3/23  The Hornets defeated Dutch Fork 6-5 for a big region win.  Bren Wilson gave up 2 earned runs in 6 2/3 innings and Bryce Clifton got the last out on the mound for the Hornets.  At the plate Spencer McCants had a 3-run blast, Hanlon Maivelette was 3 for 3 with 2 RBI’s, and Bryce Clifton was 2 for 3.

3/19  The Hornets defeated O-W 10-0.  Zac Madden picked up the victory on the mound for the Hornets.  Ryan Maddrey was 2 for 3 with an RBI, Bren Wilson was 3 for 4 with an RBI and Robert Holmes was 1 for 1 with a double and  3 runs scored.  Braylin Griffin was also 1 for 1 with an RBI.    

3/18  The Hornets defeated RNE 4-1.  Bryce Clifton went the distance on the mound striking out 9.  RNE scored 1 in the first and was shut out the rest of the way.  Robert Holmes was 3 for 3 at the plate for the Hornets.

3/15  The Hornets lost 14-3 to South Aiken.  Hanlon Maivelette and Bobby Hass each drove in runs for the Hornets.   

3/9  The Hornets lost their region opener to Irmo 5-0.  

2/27  The Hornets moved to 2-0 with a 9-4 victory over Midland Valley in the Midland Valley invitational.  Bryce Clifton picked up the victory on the mound for the Hornets striking out 7 along the way.  Bren Wilson was 2 for 3 at the plate, Zach Madden was 3 for 4, and Cameron Chapman was 2 for 3.      

2/26  The Hornets opened up their season with a 10-5 win over Augusta Christian.  Bren Wilson got the win on the mound striking out 7 in 3 innings.  Bryce Clifton was 2 for 3 with an RBI and Hanlon Maivelette was 2 for 4 with 2 RBI’s.

5/11  The Hornets lost 1-0 to West Ashley in the first round of the AAAA playoffs.

5/6  The Hornets defeated North Augusta 3-0.  Rudy Aldrete had a goal and an assist.  Dylan Snow and Tim Comer also scored goals for the Hornets.  Will Victor had 2 saves in goal for the Hornets.

5/4  The Hornets defeated Dutch Fork in PK’s 4-3.  Rudy Aldrete scored twice and Will Frei added a goal for the Hornets.  Aldrete, Frei, Dylan Snow, & Sawyer Jackson all converted their kicks for the victory.  Their season finale is thursday.

4/23  Aiken defeated RNE 2-0.  Will Frei and Jose Ortega scored goals for the Hornets.  Rudy Aldrete had an assist and Will Victor had 5 saves.

4/20  The Hornets lost to Irmo 3-0.  Will Victor had 11 saves.

4/14  The Hornets lost 3-1 to crosstown rival South Aiken.  Rudy Aldrete scored a goal and Will Victor had 5 saves for the Hornets.

4/13  Rudy Aldrete’s 3 goals led the Hornets to a 5-1 road victory over North Augusta.  Will Frei also had a goal and an assist for the victorious Hornets.  Dylan Snow also added a goal and Lucas McLeod had an assist.  Will Victor had 5 saves in goal for the Hornets.

3/30  Aiken High defeated Orangeburg 9-0.  Rudy Aldrete scored three goals.  Thomas Platt scored three goals and had three assist.  Marshall Gunnels had one goal and one assist.  Lucas Mcleod and Andy Knight each had one goal.  Will Victor, Matt Drogihini, Will Frei, Jose Oretaga, and Dylan Snow all had one assist.

3/26  Aiken won a pair of 1-0 games in the Airport Invitational.  Rudy Aldrete scored on an assist from Jose Ortega to defeat St. Joseph’s 1-0.  Will Victor had 4 saves in goal.  In Aiken’s 1-0 win over Bluffton Thomas Platt scored on an assist from Jose Ortega as Will Victor had 9 saves in goal.   

3/25   Aiken beat White Knoll in penalty kicks Thursday after the two teams were tied at the end of regulation. Lucas McLoud had both goals for the Hornets, who improved to 6-3 on the season and 4-2 in Region 5-AAAA play. Rudy Aldrete had an assist and scored the final goal for Aiken in penalty kicks.

3/23  Thomas Platt scored two goals, both assisted by Will Frei. Lucas McLeod also scored two goals, one assisted by Dylan Snow. Rudy Aldrete scored the final goal, assisted by Platt. Will Victor had five saves, and Spencer Riehl had three saves as the Hornets downed RNE 5-0.  3/19  The Hornets lost 5-0 to Irmo.  Will Victor had 6 saves. 

3/16  The Hornets lost 4-1 to Lexington.  Will Frei scored the lone goal for the Hornets and Will Victor had 5 saves for the Hornets.

3/9  The Hornets defeated Dutch Fork 3-1.  Rudy Aldrete and Lucas Macleod each had a goal and an assist.   Jose Ortega scored an unassisted goal.  Will  Victor had 3 saves in goal.

2/27  The Hornets lost 2-1 to Spring Valley.  Rudy Aldrete scored the lone goal for the Hornets.   

2/26  The Hornets won their season opener 5-0 over South Florence.  Jorge Ortega scored 2 goals assisted by Rudy Aldrete, Aldrete also scored a goal.  Spencer Riehl and Alex Faubert each scored a goal.  Will Frei had an assist for the Hornets.

5/10  The Lady Hornets lost in the first round of the playoffs 3-2.  Emma Faubert scored both goals for the Hornets.  Haley Hunt assisted on one of the goals.  Eleanor Hunter had 7 saves in goal.

5/6  The Lady Hornets clinched a playoff berth with a 1-0 victory over North Augusta.  Emma Faubert scored the lone goal on an assist from Sarah Bryan who also had 2 saves.  Eleanor Hunter also had 8 saves in goal.

5/4  The Lady Hornets defeated Dutch Fork 2-1.  Emma Faubert scored twice for the Hornets on assists from Haley Hunt and Nikki DeMass.  Eleanor Hunter had 11 saves for the Hornets.

4/27  The Lady Hornets lost 3-2 to White Knoll on penalty kicks.  Emma Faubert scored both Hornet goals from assists from Katie Lane Frei.  Eleanor Hunter had 8 saves.  The Hornets game friday vs. O-W has been forfeited so the Hornets won’t play until Tuesday. 

4/24  The Lady Hornets defeated RNE 2-1.  Emma Faubert and McKenna Dyer scored goals for the Hornets.  Haley Hunt and Liz Quinn had assists for the Hornets and Eleanor Hunter had 2 saves in goal.

4/20 The Lady Hornets defeated Irmo 4-3.  Emma Faubert and Kaitlynn Audrey each scored 2 goals.  Haley Hunt had 2 assists and Shi Pope had 1.  Eleanor Hunter had 10 saves in goal.  

4/15  The Lady Hornets lost 4-2.  Haley Hunt and Sarah Bryan scored goals for the Hornets.  Nikki DeMass had an assist an Eleanor Hunter had 2 saves and Dara Timmerman had 6 saves.

3/30 The Lady Hornets defeated Orangeburg. Emma Faubert scored two goals with one assist, and Nikki Demass had one goal and an assist. Kaitlyn Autry, Wren Clary, Sarah Bryan, Eleanor Hunter and Liz Quinn each scored a goal. Dara Timmerman had one save .

5/11 & 12  The Hornets finished 14th in the AAAA state championship.  Davis Whittle led the Hornets with rounds of 78-75-85.  Peter Marra shot 81-82-82.  Nathan Guy shot 82-83-82.  Jay Jasmin shot 87-81-87, & Andrew Deal shot 87-82-91.  Congrats to the Hornets on their fine season!!!

5/1  The Hornets finished 14th of 23 in the Southern Cross tournament at the Palmetto.  Davis Whittle led the Hornets with a 155, Peter Marra shot 158, Nathan Guy 161, and Andrew Deal 164.  The Hornets finish up the season in the AAAA state championship on May 10th and 11th

4/26  The Hornets won the Region Championship tournament at Houndslake to gain a berth in the AAAA state championship.  The Hornets were led by Peter Marra with 147, Nathan Guy with 150, Davis Whittle with 156,  Jay Jasmin with 162, and Andrew Deal with 164. Marra and Guy made the All-region team with their performance.

4/23  The Hornets defeated Strom Thurmond 149-173.  Davis Whittle led the way with a 34.  Nathan Guy followed with a 37, & Peter Marra and Andrew Deal each shot 39.   

4/20   The Hornets defeated South Aiken & North Augusta by a score of 156-161-164.  Nathan Guy led the way for the Hornets with a 36.  Davis Whittle, Peter Marra, and Jay Jasmine each shot a 40.  Tyler Floyd and Andrew Deal each shot a 43.

4/13  The Hornets lost a close 3 way match with North Augusta and Lexington by a score of  153-156-158.  Davis Whittle led the Hornets with a 38.  Bubba Castles, Andrew Deal, & Peter Marra each shot a 40.

3/26  The Hornets lost by a shot to South Aiken and defeated North Augusta in a tri-match.  The scores were 157-158-169.  Davis Whittle and Peter Marra led the Hornets with each shooting 37.   Andrew Deal shot 41, Jay Jasmine posted a 43, Tyler Floyd shot 43 and Bubba Castles rounded out the scoring with a 44.

3/23  The Hornets defeated Lexington High School 160-176. Davis Whittle shot a 38, Peter Marra shot a 39, Andrew Deal shot a 40 and Jay Jasmine shot a 43

3/19-20  Aiken High finished 19th in the Lowcountry Classic at Edisto. Davis Whittle and Peter Marra shot a 151 for the Hornets.

3/18  The Hornets defeated South Aiken and lost to North Augusta in a 3-way match at Woodside.  North Augusta shot 156, Aiken shot 169, and South Aiken shot 174.  Jay Jasmine led the Hornets with a 39, followed by Davis Whittle with a 41 and Andrew Deal with a 44.

3/11-12   The Hornets finished 18th of 26 teams in the Capitol City classic.  Davis Whittle led the Hornets with 85-77 for 162 total for a 55th place finish of 104 golfers.  Andrew Deal shot 86-79 for a 165, Jay Jasmin shot 85-82 for 167 and Peter Marra shot 89-78 for 167.

3/8  Davis Whittle had a 5th place finish with a 75 and Peter Marra shot 78.

2/26- 27  The Hornets golf team opened up their season at the Fort Dorchester Patriot Invitational.  The Hornets finished 14th of 25 teams.  Nathan Guy led the Hornets with 87-82 for a 44th place finish of 118 golfers.
